Sunday Creative Writing Sessions

over an hour of writing and sharing!

Our Sunday morning creative writing sessions are hosted by Keith Gray and Paul Malone in the best cafes and parks in Vienna. At every creative writing session you will receive the current week’s exclusive menu of creative writing prompts, which is guaranteed to inspire new and exciting ideas for stories and poems.

We write for a full hour, with time allowed afterwards for sharing our writing in the group. You’ll not only enjoy the thrill of getting fresh words on the page and improve your writing at these sessions, but you’re sure to make new friends too.

You don’t have to be a member of Sunday Writers’ Club to take part in a Sunday morning session. Everyone who enjoys writing is welcome.

The perfect way to start your Sunday morning!

Join us for an hour of creative writing and sharing.

Helpful Hints

Z

Book to join

Please book to join us. We reserve tables for our booked participants and provide the menu of creative writing prompts. This is also especially important during our current COVID times.

Z

Arrive on time

We aim to run our session on time and allow a few minutes at the beginning to welcome participants and answer any questions.

Z

Come with an appetite

Writing in good company in some of Vienna’s best cafe’s is an enriching experience. The cafés welcome us with friendly waiters ready to take orders. Come for breakfast, or at the very least, please do order a drink. You are responsible for paying your own bill.

Z

Bring something to write with

Pen and notebook or laptop – whatever you prefer. We provide the prompts, you get to do the writing!

Z

Share your writing if you'd like to

At the end of each writing session, we invite people to briefly real aloud and share some of their writing from the session. We don’t criticise or judge because we all know it’s literally only just been written. But people enjoy hearing which prompt inspired their new writing.

Z

Feel free to hang around after the session

Although our sessions end before 11:30am, writers are more than welcome to stay on to chat, order another coffee or even continue writing. One of the most rewarding aspects of Sunday Writers’ Club are the friendships made.
