This week we’re pleased to share with you two songs written by Sunday Writers’ Club members Dagmar Bayer and Tamara Raidt. We also welcome Dagmar Bayer into the SWC community as one of our newest members.
We hope you enjoy reading and listening to the music.

Writing inspired by the SWC creative writing prompt: The Distance Between Us.

The Distance Between Us

by Dagmar Bayer (Lyrics and vocals). Music by Paul Malone

The Distance Between Us

By Dagmar Bayer

1 How could we believe there was a distance between us
2 Sending all those smoke signs from our writing caves

3 Luck and doom between the lines, it rolls in short waves
4 Paint the ghost town red with a writing pen

5 The day is cold, the tea most herbal
6 Our lives on hold till lines get verbal

7 How could we believe there was a distance between us
8 Sending all those smoke signs from our writing caves

9 Luck and doom between the lines, it rolls in short waves
10 Paint the ghost town red with a writing pen

11 There’s time to think, there’s time to grief
12 Now dare to blink: How could we believe?

The Distance Between Us

by Tamara Raidt (Lyrics and vocals together with Julien). Music by Paul Malone

The Distance Between Us

By Tamara Raidt

One ocean met another one
and told me about you and your light
Rumour says they spoke all night
and the sailors all stopped by
Waves coming up and down
and now you’re mine
Shivers on the earth like those
running down your spine
Don’t fear the distance between us
it’s melting away like Antarctica
tell them we found our peace of mind
in a coastal town in Africa
All the way back and forth,
I’m on your bus line
in my bags I packed enough
things for a lifetime
For a lifetime.
